Rental terms and conditions

Alianthos Cars will be happy to offer car and bike rental services in our customers, in case the follow minimum requirements are fulfilled.

Age Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Drivers between 21 - 23 years can only rent Groups A, B, C, & C4.
  • Drivers between 24 - 25 years can rent all groups except J1, S4 and S5.
  • Drivers between 25 - 74 years can rent any car Group with no restrictions
  • Drivers 75+ years can rent Groups A, B, C, C4, D, D4, F, F4, K, K1 & K2, as long as they present a renewed & valid Driver’s License.

Driving License

  • Driver’s License must be valid & issued at least 1 year before the check out date for Groups A, B, C,C4, D, D4, F, F4, K, K1 & K2 & at least 2 years before the check out date for all remaining Groups.
    • National Driving License: EU Nationals (including Norway, Iceland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and N. Ireland, Switzerland & Liechtenstein nationals), USA, Australia, Canada.
    • Only card-type National Driving License (IN LATIN CHARACTERS): Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Central African Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Georgia, Ghana, Guyana, Holy See, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Niger,Pakistan, Peru, Philippines,Qatar, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tajikistan, Thailand, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Vietnam, Zimbabwe
    • Both National AND International Driving License: All other Countries
  • In case Driver’s License does not meet these criteria, the Agent is NOT allowed by the law to deliver the car, still since the Driver is obliged to check all rental requirements before proceeding to a booking, the reservation will be considered as “Non Show” with any charges this entails

Car Fleet

  • All Car Makes & Models displayed are indicative. The Company holds the right to change the Car make or/and model, without any prior notice to another of the same category

Fuel Policy

  • Fair Fuel Policy applies. Costumer must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel that he received it. Any difference in fuel is paid by the costumer at the end of the rental. Excess fuel is not refunded

Mileage

  • We offer unlimited mileage for rentals up to 29 days
  • For 30-89 days rentals we offer 100klm free per day. Additional kilometers are charged 0.15€/klm+VAT

Payment Procedures and Other Transactions

  • Prices may be subject to change without any prior notice
  • Taxes are included in ALL rates
  • Tax percentage in Greece is 24%
  • Airport surcharge is13% for Athens International Airport and 6% for all other National Airports
  • Payment methods:
    • Prepaid Reservations and deposits are settled through Bank Transfer
    • Direct Reservations are settled at check out, by credit card or cash
    • Cash transaction allowance in Greece is limited to 500€
  • All Credit Cards are accepted for payments & pre authorizations
  • Debit Cards are only accepted for payments
  • Customer must be the card holder of the Debit or Credit Card provided
  • Pre-Authorized Excess or Security Deposit Amounts are released from Alianthos within 24hrs from check in. Depending on their Bank, it might take Customers anywhere between 3-10 days to see them released

Cancelation Policy

  • Customers cancelling their reservation up to 72 hours before pick-up time will not be charged
  • Customers cancelling their reservation between 72 and 24 hours before pick-up time will be charged 50% of the reservation amount
  • Customers cancelling their reservation less than 24 hours before pick-up time, Non-Show customers or Customers cancelling later that the pick-up time will be charged 100% of the reservation amount.

Insurance Coverage

A. MANDATORY INSURANCE PACKAGES

  • THIRD PARTY LIABILITY (TPL)
    Third Party Liability (TPL) is included in the rates & covers third parties in case of death or body injuries, including passengers (except the driver of the Alianthos vehicle):
    • In Case of Death or injury of third party, up to 1.300.000€ per person
    • In Case of third party’s property damages up to 1.200.000€
    • TPL does NOT Cover:
      • Theft or attempted theft of the vehicle
      • Theft of personal belongings from the vehicle
      • Damages to the rental l vehicle
      • Death or injury of the Driver
  • COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in the rates & limits the Renter’s liability to the excess amount, towards damages caused to the Alianthos vehicle, regardless of whether the Renter is at fault or not. CDW Excess amounts per car group are stated below.
    • CDW Excess Amounts:
      For Groups Α, B, C & C4: 600€, for Groups D, D4, E, E4, G & G4: 1000€, for Groups K, K1, K4, T, T1 & T4: 1.200€, for Groups H & Η1: 1.400€, for Groups J & J1: 1.600€, for Groups S2, S3, S4 & S5: 1.800€, for Group S6: 2.500€ & for Group S7: 3.500€
    • CDW does NOT Cover:
      • Damages caused due to breaching the terms and conditions of rental
      • Damages caused intentionally or by negligence
      • Damages caused due to traffic law violations (road signs, speed limits, road directions, alcohol or drug use etc), use of the car for illegal purposes (racing or competitions, illegal transportations, theft etc)
      • Damages caused due to off road driving (anywhere where it’s not asphalt)
      • Engine damage due to negligent use of the vehicle or/ and filling up with the wrong type of fuel
      • Damages caused as a result of acts of God and terrorist attacks
      • Damages caused to the undercarriage of the vehicle, windscreens or mirrors, rims & tires
      • Damages caused to the vehicle while boarded on ships
      • Loss, theft or damage of car keys, baby seats & other accessories or any other fixed or mobile component of the vehicle (antennas / trunk covers / wipers etc)
      • Damage to rooftops in convertible cars
      • Damages caused while the Vehicle is driven by unauthorized persons (anyone who is not listed on the rental agreement)
  • THEFT WAIVER (THW)
    Theft Waiver (THW) is included in the rates & exempts the Renter in the event of theft of the vehicle. THW Excess Amounts are stated below.
    • THW Excess Amounts:
      For Groups Α, B, C & C4: 600€, for Groups D, D4, E, E4, G & G4: 1000€, for Groups K, K1, K4, T, T1 & T4: 1.200€, for Groups H & Η1: 1.400€, for Groups J & J1: 1.600€, for Groups S2, S3, S4 & S5: 1.800€, for Group S6: 2.500€ & for Group S7: 3.500€
    • THW does NOT Cover:
      • Theft or damages from attempted theft of the vehicle due to negligence (e.g. car unlocked or/and unsupervised, keys left on ignition etc)
      • Theft of personal belongings & valuables

B. OPTIONAL INSURANCE PACKAGES

  • STANDARD INSURANCE (STD)
    Standard Insurance (STD) is NOT included in the rates & reduces the Renter’s liability (Excess Amount) in case of accident or/ and damage to the vehicle. Daily cost of the Standard Insurance as well as reduced Excess Amounts is stated below.
    • Standard Insurance (Reduced) Excess Amounts:
      For Groups Α, B, C & C4: 300€, for Groups D, D4, E, E4, G & G4: 500€, for Groups K, K1, K4, T, T1 & T4:600€, for Groups H & Η1: 700€, for Groups J & J1: 800€, for Groups S2, S3, S4 & S5: 900€, for Group S6: 2.500€ & for Group S7: 3.500€
    • Standard Insurance Cost Per Rental Day:
      For Groups Α, B, C & C4: 5€, for Groups D, D4, E, E4, G & G4: 7€, for Groups K, K1, K4, T, T1 & T4: 9€,for Groups H & Η1: 10€, for Groups J & J1: 12€, for Groups S2, S3, S4 & S5: 14€
    • STD does NOT Cover:
      • Damages caused due to breaching the terms and conditions of rental
      • Damages caused intentionally or by negligence
      • Damages caused due to traffic law violations (road signs, speed limits, road directions, alcohol or drug use etc), use of the car for illegal purposes (racing or competitions, illegal transportations, theft etc)
      • Damages caused due to off road driving (anywhere where it’s not asphalt)
      • Engine damage due to negligent use of the vehicle or/ and filling up with the wrong type of fuel
      • Damages caused as a result of acts of God and terrorist attacks
      • Damages caused to the undercarriage of the vehicle, windscreens or mirrors, rims & tires
      • Damages caused to the vehicle while boarded on ships

  • PREMIUM INSURANCE (PRM)
    Premium Insurance (PRM) is NOT included in the rates & exempts the Renter by eliminating the Excess Amount. Daily cost of the Premium Insurance is stated below.
    • Premium Insurance Cost Per Rental Day:
      For Groups Α, B, C & C4: 8€, for Groups D, D4, E, E4, G & G4: 10€, for Groups K, K1, K4, T, T1 & T4: 12€, for Groups H & Η1: 14€, for Groups J & J1: 16€, for Groups S2, S3, S4 & S5: 18€
    • PRM does NOT Cover:
      • Damages caused due to breaching the terms and conditions of rental
      • Damages caused intentionally or by negligence
      • Damages caused due to traffic law violations (road signs, speed limits, road directions, alcohol or drug use etc), use of the car for illegal purposes (racing or competitions, illegal transportations, theft etc)
      • Damages caused due to off road driving (anywhere where it’s not asphalt)

  • PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE (PAI)
    Personal Accindent Insurance (PAI) is offered for 5€ per day and covers the Driver for: Death, permanent total or partial disability and hospitalization caused by a road accident up to 5.000€.

C. SECURITY DEPOSIT

Security deposit is mandatory at all cases, regardless of the insurance package purchased. The security deposit amount is pre-authorized at check out through Renter’s Credit Card & it’s intended to cover fuel difference at check in, traffic fines or any other administration fees, if required. Security Deposit Amount is 300€.

D. STANDARD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE (SRA)

Standard Roadside Assistance (SRA) is included in all rates & provides immediate help 24/07. In case a car is immobilized the Renter must contact the Company and report the incident. Our Agents will take all necessary actions to resolve any issue immediately
  • Flat Tire: Replacement of a flat or damaged tire with the spare, or get the car towed to the nearest service facility
  • Flat Battery: Alianthos will provide a jump start, if the vehicle experiences battery failure
  • Fuel Delivery: If the vehicle runs out of fuel, Alianthos will deliver fuel to Renter’s location
  • Lockout: When keys are locked inside the vehicle or when the keys are lost, Alianthos will assist the Renter gain access to the vehicle
  • SRA does NOT Cover:
    • Tire damage caused by negligence or by driving off road
    • Cost of tires replacement
    • Battery damage caused by negligence
    • Fuel costs and refueling service fee, in case of fuel delivery
    • Key replacement cost, in case of key loss or damage
    • Locksmith service cost, in case the key is locked inside the vehicle or damaged/inoperable due to careless use of the key or the vehicle

Products and Services

  • Additional Driver is charged 3€ per day
  • Infant Seats, Baby Seats & Toddler Seats are offered upon request & charged 4€ per day, with a maximum of 40€ per rental
  • Booster Seats are offered upon request & charged 3€ per day, with a maximum of 30€ per rental
  • Navigation System is offered upon request & charged 8€ per day, with a maximum of 80€ per rental
  • Snow Chains are offered upon request & charged 12€ per day, with a maximum of 120€ per rental
  • Out Of Office Hours Any service offered out of office operating hours (22:01 – 07:59) is charged 25€ per case & only upon request.
  • Delivery & Collection Fee Out of Office deliveries or/and collections are also offered upon request with an additional cost of 15€ plus 0.62€/klm from the closest Station
  • One Way Fee is offered between Alianthos Locations on Crete, applies to shorter than 3 day rentals & costs 0.62€/klm

Penalties

  • Refueling Service Fee is charged when the vehicle is collected with less amount of fuel than delivered. It costs 10€ plus the cost of the missing fuel.
  • Deep Cleaning Charge of 100€ is charged upon collection if the vehicle is treated with negligence & requires deep cleaning (ex extreme amount of sand or dust / food & drink stains / smoke smell / children's impurities etc
  • Loss of Revenue Alianthos has the right to charge a Costumer who caused the vehicle’s immobilization for any reason (damage / accident / vehicle plates collection from the Police etc) as a compensation for the lost income. The amount charged is based on the current rate per day.
  • Administration Fee is a charge of 25€ applied for handling an incident case (ex damage / accident etc)
  • Traffic Law Violations all fines and consequences that result from traffic law violations are incurred by the Customer. (Law3542/code L2696/1999/par3/art4.P-40)
  • Fine Costs & Administration Fees are charged to the Customer
  • Vehicle's Plates Repossession from the Traffic Police costs 250€ also charged to the Customer

Clarifications

  • Minimum Rental Period is 1 day (24 hours)
  • Grace Period is 1 hour
  • Smoking in the vehicle is strictly prohibited
  • Personal Belongings & Valuables: The Company is not liable for personal belongings / valuables that were stolen/lost from the vehicle or damaged during an accident or during the rental period until the end of it
  • Rentals out of Country are prohibited. For any violation of this rule, the company holds the right to charge the Driver
  • Ship Transfer is allowed only after prior request by the customer and approval by Alianthos Cars. Customer is held fully liable for any damages caused to the vehicle while on the ferry, since insurance packages do not offer that cover
  • Client is obliged to contact any Alianthos Location in case of breakdown or/and accident immediately and follow the instructions provided. In case he neglects to follow this process, he is considered fully liable for all the consequences that may arise from the incident.

Privacy Policy
  • All information submitted through the contact form of the website will be sent by email to Alianthos Group Company.
  • This information will be stored and processed by Alianthos Group personnel for the purpose of providing car rental services only.
  • The information will be retained stored for the time duration specified by the Greek legislations or until the rental services will not be desired.
  • No part of this information will be given to any third party.
